Post-Graduate Fellowship
The Wellness Center will soon offer the first tribally-run paid post-graduate fellowship training program for Native Americans who have completed their doctoral education (Ph.D, Psy.D. or Ed.D.), and are looking for a site to get the required 2000 supervised hours towards psychologist licensure.
We may also consider applications from Native American post-master's degree graduates. This program will be affiliated with the Arizona Psychology Training Consortium (APTC) and APTC is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC).
The completion of the fellowship program should enable a person to sit for psychologist licensure exams in a number of states. The Wellness Center currently has 4 licensed doctoral-level psychologists who have been trained in a variety of counseling and psychotherapy treatment approaches. Any interested candidates should contact the Program Director, Thea Wilshire, Ph.D., for further information about the program.
